Westchester Toyota will be holding its 25th Give Back Donation Event at the dealership this August 2018. This one will be different than the rest, as Westchester Toyota is making efforts for it to be extra special to celebrate that the dealership has donated nearly $70,000 to local charities since the program began. Instead of choosing three deserving nonprofits, as Westchester Toyota usually does for its Give Back Donation Event, the dealership has nominated five remarkable nonprofits and is allowing the public to choose the three that will receive donations. Not only has Westchester Toyota added on two charities to the running, but the dealership has also extended the time period allotted for the community to vote. As always, the amount of money rewarded will be based on the number of votes each charity receives on Westchester Toyota’s Facebook page. However, instead of the regular three month period that is given, fans will have six months to vote for their favorite charity. Voting opened February 1st and will close the end of July. The first and grand prize winner will be granted $5,000. The running-up charity will receive $2,000, and the charity that is third place will receive $1,000. The five organizations in the running are Paws Crossed, My Brother Vinny, Lifting Up Westchester, Westchester Parks Foundation and Yonkers Partners in Education.

Each organization is different and extremely special to Westchester County. Paws Crossed is dedicated to being a true no-kill animal rescue and has a mission to “rescue one by one until there are none.” Paws Crossed is a private organization that relies on donations, grants and fundraising alone. My Brother Vinny is a NYS nonprofit that distributes food, clothing, furniture and housewares to United States Veterans, outreach groups, shelters and local families. My Brother Vinny is known for many of its diverse and good acts, a couple being its annual walk and helping local animal shelters. Lifting Up Westchester helps those struggling to overcome poverty, homelessness and hunger by providing them with food, shelter and support. Through donations and volunteerism, Lifting Up Westchester works with all people in need to help them create healthier lives. Westchester Parks Foundation works to engage the public to advocate for and invest in the preservation, conservation, use and enjoyment of the 18,000 acres of parks, trails and open land that make up the Westchester County Park System. Yonkers Partners in Education has a mission to increase the number of Yonkers Public School students who complete a post-secondary program that prepares them for a successful career. YPIE partners with the Yonkers Public School District, business and philanthropic communities and higher education institutions to achieve its goal.

“We’re always excited for our Give Back Donation Event, but the anticipation is killing us this time!” says David Lee, General Manager of Westchester Toyota. He continues, “All five of these charities are amazing and already receiving a ton of votes on our Facebook page. It’s definitely going to be a close call and we’re eager to honor these organizations. Overall, though, we as a dealership feel extremely blessed and humbled to have contributed to and met the people of such exceptional charities 24 times, and we think the 25th will be great.”
