The public has voted for six months, all leading up to this Wednesday when the dealership will donate a total of $8,000 to three spectacular charities.

Westchester, New York – Westchester Toyota will be holding its 25th Give Back Donation Event at the dealership this Wednesday, August 22nd. As Westchester Toyota has donated nearly $70,000 to local charities since the program was created, the dealership has assured that this Silver Anniversary will be the hugest yet. To make this one extraordinary and incomparable from the rest, Westchester Toyota took a different approach. Instead of choosing three deserving nonprofits, which is what’s usually done for the Give Back Donation Event, the dealership nominated five remarkable nonprofits and allowed the public to choose the three that will receive donations. The dealership not only left the choice up to the public, but also extended the time allotted for the community to vote. That’s not all. As always, the amount of money rewarded will be based on the number of votes each charity receives on Westchester Toyota’s Facebook page. With fans voting for six months rather than the traditional three, the dealership knew this was the perfect and most appropriate opportunity to donate more to each charity. Added up, a total of $8,000 will be contributed to the public’s favorite charities.

Each organization is different and extremely special to Westchester County. The first and grand prize winner is My Brother Vinny. My Brother Vinny is a NYS nonprofit that distributes food, clothing, furniture and housewares to United States Veterans, outreach groups, shelters and local families. My Brother Vinny is known for many of its diverse and good acts, a couple being its annual walk and helping local animal shelters. The extremely respected organization received 6,405 votes and will be granted $5,000. The running-up charity is Paws Crossed Animal Shelter, which received an impressive 4,123 votes and will receive $2,000. Paws Crossed is dedicated to being a true no-kill animal rescue and has a mission to “rescue one by one until there are none.” Paws Crossed is a private organization that relies on donations, grants and fundraising alone. Lifting Up Westchester is the nonprofit in third place with 940 votes and will receive $1,000. Lifting Up Westchester helps those struggling to overcome poverty, homelessness and hunger by providing them with food, shelter and support. Through donations and volunteerism, Lifting Up Westchester works with all people in need to help them create healthier lives.

David Lee, General Manager of Westchester Toyota, says, “Wednesday is going to be legendary for us as a dealership. That may sound dramatic, but it’s really not. Our Give Back Program has come a long way, and we’ve waited for a chance like this to truly offer what the charities that serve our area deserve. We’ve always been extremely proud of our donations and love to see the smiles of charity representatives. But this time, the community was more involved with the voting and the event put us all on the edge of our seats. Through this program, our goal is to help and unite Westchester. We can’t wait to honor the deserving charities this Wednesday.”
